You wanted it, you got it: A sneak peek at the new Detonator Yellow Challenger (as requested in some of the comments). More and better pictures are coming, but you get the idea. We’re sure you’re salivating anyway. Info on ordering and another image after the jump.
Ordering the high-impact colors comes up a lot in comments, so here’s the skinny: Dodge typically makes a limited high-impact color available for ordering for at least 8 weeks…Detonator Yellow was open for about 10 weeks, for example. We expect Plum Crazy, the currently available high-impact color, will be open about 12 weeks, maybe longer. Orders are placed about 60 days before production starts, so get your order in while you can!
We’re keeping an eye out for more color news, so stay tuned.

I think some of my posts ended up in the internet toilet, so I’m resending….
Still on the fence, waiting for Sublime, and enjoying all of the comments folks are tossing out. Looking at the SEMA photos just confirms how cool the Challenger is. I truly hope this car helps turn Dodge around for the better.
I look forward to the presentation tomorrow from the new man in charge. I’ve been reading up on his work habits, 20 hour days!! Best of luck, and I will try to help out, once SUBLIME is offered on the Challenger.
And I will be driving the car, not parking it in a garage,as an investment. And I will be first in line as an extra for the Dodge commercial remake “THAT THING GOT A HEMI”???!!!!!

I was waiting for the Sublime too, then I checked it out on the Charger and really didn’t like it much. Maybe it’ll look better on the Challenger. Ahhh, but the Plum Crazy! That ROCKS! Dodge, please make all the high impact colours available all the time. You need my 50 grand, along with everyone else’s who might hesitate if they can’t get what they want in a car, when they want it. Look how many people on this blog are ‘holding out’ for a colour they want. Wouldn’t it be better to get a few more paint booths fired up and start bringing in more much need cash? How hard can it be? Rarity and collectibility in ’60s/’70s muscle cars is all fine, but that won’t pay the bills at Chrysler here and now today. Let’s not let it be too little too late. And a big thank you to people here recommending honest, straight shooting dealers. Keep the suggestions coming, folks.

jre..The Avenger is not cheap-o. You have to quit reading trash like Consumer Reports. Actually the Avenger in it’s segment, is quite comparable. Great milage and as many as I’ve looked at, don’t see anything cheap-o about them. It’s all about preception.
Mr.Kowalski. THe reason why the Sublime doesn’t have quite the impression on the Charger is not the color itself but the general shape of the Charger. Charger lends itself better to deaper richer colors especially the SRT’s.

How long to we have to wait for Sublime already? This is ridiculous. Does anybody read this blog from Dodge and then follow through? We shouldn’t have to beg for colors. Dodge should be proactive enough to change stripe packages, hoods ( shaker, T/A, 1320, air grabber, etc.) side scoops, wheels, spoilers, etc., every couple of years. We have all these computers to keep track of things now and we have less options and changes. In the 60s and 70s, they used to change the grill and taillights every year and the body style every three years. Be proactive, not reactive and you will sell cars.

I see that GM has beat you to the punch, by offering a 2010 GREEN Camaro (SEMA show, Synergy Green Camaro). Let’s get the holiday spirit in full gear, and get a green challenger on the availability list.
I have to say, I’m impressed that GM is throwing out all the different Camaro options, so I hope you will do the same, very soon. I’m not saying I like all the Camaro options, but its cool to see GM bring out some different ideas. And no, I’m not placing an order for a Camaro.
Let’s get the challenger upfront, with wings, hoods, stripes, wheels, beer coolers and trucker hats, whatever it takes. And most of all, lets get the green on the menu!!!!

GM can do all it wants. It will never make a pimple on the challenger’s posterior. That squaty simling look doesn’t do anything for me. As soon as Sublime is offered I’ll be down at my local Dodge dealer with my order in!!!

You have to stop reading trash like allpar. I’m sorry, but the Avenger lags behind its competition in basically every category. Consumer reports is hardly the only one making these claims. Depending on your tastes you may find the exterior to be a change of pace from other midsize sedans, but overall the car cannot compete.
I have not seen the 2010s yet, so they may have addressed the interior issues, but I can’t imagine anything else has been changed substantially. Outside of the people with mopar in their blood, rental car companies, or those who found one on firesale, there is just not an audience for this car. Even chrysler knows this, which is why they’re trying to get a replacement out there on a fiat platform asap.

Sorry but Allpar doesen’t sugar coat anything. The Avenger is a well built car that does what it’s supposed to do. It’s all about perseption. Thats why so many people buy Toyota’s.
They have for the most part a fleet of the most butt ugly cars and trucks that metal can be formed into yet because of a few know it all magazines that catagorize these cars as being the one’s to own there somehow moved into an environment above everything else. If there’s no audience for the Avenger it’s not because of the car itself. It’s because of poor marketing.

The only bad thing on the Avenger is the front end. It just looks funny. The headlights cut into the fender at weird angles. Just put a Charger front end on it and it will sell like hot cakes.

Just kidding. First off, thanks very much for reading and for being so passionate about your Dodges and how they look. We do read (and appreciate) your comments and take them into consideration. Sublime has not been ruled out by any means — we still have new colors coming down the pike. We understand it can be frustrating waiting for new colors, but all we can say is we’re working on it, and please stay tuned…

Yes we are passionate, because we couldn’t afford the snakeskin green viper, didn’t want a 4 door green charger, and were too young, too poor, and too clueless to buy an original sublime green challenger, or cuda back in the day.
Sublime green challenger is the only car on my radar, until Dodge makes a decision on production. 2011, too long a wait for me, I’ll spend my money on something else.

The DT at the LA auto show looks nice. Those wheels belong on the SRT8 as well. However, they would look great on SUBLIME GREEN CHALLENGERS!
