With a standard six-speaker stereo system that boasts an MP3 auxiliary jack and 12-volt power outlet, the Dodge Nitro was already built to make your music sound amazing, no matter what your tastes. But the people at Infinity and Harman International have kicked things up a notch, acoustically mastering an Infinity Premium sound system especially for the Nitro. The available system includes a 368-watt eight-channel amp and nine speakers, including an eight-inch subwoofer, even making tests from the emergency broadcast system sound a whole lot better. Infinity systems have been used in Chrysler products for sometime and I have never heard one sound anything but great. I was hoping that the Challenger was going to have Infinity. My Ram truck sounds first class with it’s 6 disk Infinity system. I bet the one in the Nitro is just fantastic! Why use any other brand?

I’m from TN and I too got tired of the price gouging around here. The dealers went as far as to up their prices as much as $10,000. That was their bargaining chip never going below $5,000 over MSRP. I decided to check around and ended up working with a great dealership in Michigan. They even gave me a price below their MSRP. I decided to go ahead and deal with them even though it’s going to be an 800 mile trip. To me that’s worth saving up to $10,000. I have my ship date on the 29th of this month. I got the Plum Crazy Purple R/T with the six speed manual. Can’t wait to get behind the wheel because this too has been my dream car for 4 years.Does anybody out there know what the production number is on the Plum Crazy Purple, I know it’s very limited?

RLD, I appreciate your concern over dealer practices. Twice in the past, I’ve held off from buying a popular car because dealers were demanding premiums above MSRP. The first time was 1984 (I believe) when the minivans were really popular. The other time was when the PT Cruiser first came out. In both of these cases, my wife and I were ready to buy and pay MSRP if required BUT certainly not several thousand above MSRP! We walked away both times, knowing that if we payed over sticker, we would wind up in an “upside down” situation with our loan in a couple of years and a really bad taste in our mouths for the dealer AND for Chrysler. I don’t understand why the dealers don’t realize that they’re sacrificing long-term customer relations and loyalty for short-term profits. It’s not worth it!

Great point, trqlvr! How many customers do they run off long term for a quick short term buck. Let me tell you, the cars they have marked over sticker price by Allen Samuels in Texas are still sitting there, and we had a hail storm that dented them all up. Serves the SOBs right. One of them would have been sitting in my garage, but they had to be greedy.
