Dodge Super Beard Contest: Are You Man Enough? |
Posted on February 7, 2010
We all make compromises in our lives. We concede to the requests of our better halves, jobs, and society – be it holding a pink purse in the middle of a crowded shopping mall, tending to the endless honey-do list, or putting in those extra hours polishing off the all-important TPS report.
Every man has their limit though; a line in the sand where we all shout “I am man and I will not bend!” Dodge wants you to prove it! Proclaim your manliness to the world by growing your beard and entering the Dodge Super Beard Contest!
Starting on Feb 7th, 2010; contestants will be tasked to grow out their beards and upload pictures of their progress to the Dodge Super Beard Contest. The Grand Prize winner will be selected based on overall number of fan votes to receive a weekend for (2) to Dodge Motorsports Race event of their choice. Additionally, two Honorable Mention winners will be selected by a panel of Dodge employees, who will select photographs that best portray the contestant’s growth of a beard, based on: overall quality, appearance, creativity, quality of facial hair, originality, skill and content and will receive two (2) SRT Track Experience Gift Cards.
Can’t grow a beard? Don’t worry – we have Dodge Prize Packs full of great apparel and collectibles for voters who enter the sweepstakes!

This is probably the only way you will get a Dodge fan to a NASCAR race the way things are going this year. Hopefully, Kurt can defy the odds and take the championship this year. If another Chevy wins, I don’t think anyone will attend a NASCAR event unless they drive a chevy. In fact, all the car makers should boycott it next year.

Screw you and your Super bowl commercials! You think men can’t stand up for themselves or that ALL women rule the house….F**k YOU! Would NEVER buy a car from your sexist a**’s now! Bunch of Jerks!

Chelbie,
I guess you didnt see the “getaway car” Charger commercial with the Woman, peeling out infront of her house while her man was in a hissy fit !!! Did you ? Please educate yourself before such ignorant foolish statements !!
Furthermore,They are not sexist, they are not a bunch of jerks,it is real life !! Get over it.. Actually, most women pick out the colors in a house, alot of women tell the man what to wear, and what new car to buy (they actually did a survey on this and its true),also I notice from friends/family this add is true to an extent ,so these add are great ..
…Should Dodge have a man with a man purse and a lame smile on his face instead ? My girl friend loves the commercials..(late 20′s) Furthermore,Look at the guys driving a Kia,they look upset, sad dissapointed, hopeless !! Those guys have no say in the family ride..and this add makes them envious !!! I see it when they stare at my Dodge at a light, then I look over they quickly turn their head in shame/sorrow…hopefully from now on,they will have a say at least in their car.

Chelbie–
You realize that in the time it took to post that, you could have been Hen pecking your boyfriend?
Quick you better go look and see if he escaped to a place where he might find one ounce of his enjoyment in his life outside of your retarded sense of order.

Hey Everyone,
We pride ourselves in maintaining an open forum for everyone to express their own opinions, however, in order to do so we must avoid personal attacks and offensive behavior. Thanks.

Looks like Dodge is ripping off the idea from the Men’s Health Charity ‘Movember’. Men grow moustaches in the month of November to raise money for prostate and testicular cancer. Seems like a better reason to grow facial hair.

Dodge PR Department:
Men aren’t the only ones who love your Charger. Hope you don’t mind that this woman took a stand and bought the car of her dreams!! Don’t want to enter any type of facial hair contest, but I do think you need to be aware that women, or at least this one likes your product (and men) too!!
Feb 08, 2010 @ 17:52:24
Sherri: That great to hear! Of course it’s not just men that love the Charger. Even though growing a beard will not be for everyone, anyone that votes on the contest is entered to win additional prizes should you want to participate that way.

RLD, that is your best ad yet, why don’t we see that one on TV?
Feb 08, 2010 @ 20:14:22
WOW! RLD. Now that’s an Ad right there fellas! That’s awesome! Please put that one on TV, and often. How many ads do you see nowadays with a hot lady doing a burnout. Also love the “American ’70′s ROCK” music by “Heart” in the background. I was wondering when you were going to use some of it in your commercials. The import commercials exploit American Rock all the time. I’ve gone “CRAZY” on that commercial. Cool. Thanks.

Now that’s a great commercial.

What the hell is a “Chelbie”?
Someone like that would never buy a Mopar anyway.
KMA “Chelbie”.
People are tired of having the guilt card played on them over THEIR choices of products to buy. My sister has a Hummer and she is always getting crap from Libs about it. Funny thing is they cut her off in traffic with their hybrids. One day WHAM! right up the exhaust pipe.
Mopar or No Car!

BTW, LOVE THE COMMERCIALS!
‘Bout time someone said it like it is.
Balance out a few of them so “Chelbie” won’t get her (his?) panties in a wad.

I see panther pink (furious fuchsia) is coming as the next color for the Challenger: http://www.allpar.com/news/index.php/2010/02/furious-fuchsia-dodge-challengers-coming. I think we are about out of colors so hopefully, sublime will be next. My wife had to purchase an Acadia because you couldn’t deliver on a Durango or Aspen and I will tell you that the interior on it is great. It handles great and she has been talking me into a Camaro. If it is built half as good as this Acadia, I just may buy one. It sure is a lot faster and less expensive. You guys have just let me down and I have never been so upset with a car manufacturer in my life. Our family has bought mopars for generations, however, you cannot be blind to the competition and you can’t ignore your customers. If my Dodge Ram wasn’t built so well, and has never had to go back to the dealer for repairs after six years, then I probably would have jumped ship a long time ago. I just wish we knew what was coming in the near future or if we should move on now. Camaros come with a black interiors and in just about any color of the rainbow. I can purchase a lot of gas with the $10 grand that I will save. Think of all of the other customers that have jumped ship. At least they have car brochures for the 2010 Camaro.

Chelbie you should be banned from Red Letter Dodge. Your attitude sucks and is an embarrassment.

OK, so Plymouth is gone,,, So, how is a retro Superbird; GTX; or a 68 looking Cuda ever going to be build? I don’t mind owning or driving a DODGE Suberbird, GTX, or Cuda. And,, a retro Road Runner would look great next to the 69 I have now. THAT would be a really nice PAIR.
Thomas

Awesome Thomas, the Road Runner is my favorite car hands down. I was always a Plymouth guy until Daimler destroyed the division. The ’68 to ’73 Road Runners are nice. You are a lucky guy
to own one.
