Wild Colors Live On… Introducing Furious Fuchsia! |
Posted on February 11, 2010
Debuting at the 2010 Chicago Auto Show, Dodge celebrates the memory of one of the wildest OEM paint codes in history and the 40th birthday of the fearsome Challenger with the addition of “Furious Fuchsia” to the ordering sheet. Significantly darker (though no less ostentatious) than the original hue, Furious Fuchsia calls upon the rich – if not short-lived – legacy of Panther Pink combined with innovations in paint technology to create its own unique place in the Challenger’s history books. Furious Fuchsia further distinguishes itself from the older, brighter tone with its limited availability, as it will be offered exclusively on Dodge Challenger R/T Classic and only 400 Challenger SRT8 models.
In addition to the fierce exterior presence, each Furious Fuchsia model will also feature complimenting interior accents including Pearl White performance seats with Furious Fuchsia accented stripe and, in SRT8 models, an exclusive dash-mounted plated distinguishing the vehicle as only one of 400. Despite the extensive aesthetic overhaul, powertrains for both models will remain unchanged and as such, the R/T Classic will continue to boast a 376 horsepower 5.7-liter HEMI V-8 engine while the SRT8 will sport its fabled 425-horsepower 6.1-liter HEMI V-8. Pricing for the sharp new models will be $35,140 and $45,150, respectively, and as mentioned above, both editions will be available for order at dealerships across the U.S. in March.

I want to bring back B5Blue again…….
Feb 11, 2010 @ 17:01:05
WILL BE HAPPY TO KEEP MY 2006 WHITE!!! LOVE IT EXCEPT THE GOVERNOR. CUTS OUT AT 115. I’M 67 AND MIGHT NEED TO GO FASTER THAN THAT SOME TIMES. TOO OLD TO FLY A PLACE, BUT WOULD MAKE ME HAPPY TO BE ABLE TO GO FAST IN MY CAR!!!! HA!! THANKS GUYS FOR A GREAT PRODUCT!!!
Feb 11, 2010 @ 17:19:20
Letsy, get yourself a Diablo Predator sport tuner, over at BMG for $289, and say goodbye to
that governor. Then you can really uleash some power and awake the giant within.
Feb 11, 2010 @ 18:22:13
Chelbie, and you think Dodge doesn’t think about women. They make a commercial with a girl doing a burnout in a R/T Charger and now they offer the Challenger in pink. My God, what other car maker does that?
Feb 11, 2010 @ 20:35:56
WE NEED A VANISHING POINT EDITION CHALLENGER!!!!!! That would be awesome…. We could all be Kowalski!! lol
Feb 11, 2010 @ 22:48:24
It appears that just about any color looks good on a Challenger. I must admit that Furious Fuchsia looks awesome, better than I expected. A great 40th Anniversay Edition. Great job Dodge.
Keep those wild colors coming and lets see Sublime for 2011. The more Outrageous, wild and bold the better.
I love my DY Classic but if Sublime comes out in 2011, goodbye DY and hello Sublime.
Feb 12, 2010 @ 00:27:18
I think you will be lucky to sell 400 of these cars. What man in their right mind is going to drive around in a pink car? It will be very interesting to see the demographics on the sales of these vehicles in hot pink. Maybe you can convince Mary Kay to purchase these cars for their best sales agents. It sure beats a pink Cadillac. SUBLIME, already…we grow tired of your games.
Feb 12, 2010 @ 12:11:55
I see you finally came to your senses and now have HEMI Orange as a color choice for your R/T and SRT models again. Now all you have to do is offer the 2010 brochure online for all of your car models. In addition, you should drop that pathetic want-a-be AAR ‘cuda half strobe stipe and slap a T/A sticker on you Mopar Exterior group Challengers with the T/A hood scoop. Further, make the hood scoop functional. This would look good in orange, sublime, panther pink, yellow and B5 if the hoods were flat black and they had the flat black SRT duct tail spoilers on them. You could save manufacturing costs because all the hoods could come flat black or semi flat black from your supplier and then you wouldn’t even have to paint them. This deal of charging another 2 grand for a hood is ridiculous and people can see that. Our two Mopar exterior group Challengers have been sitting on the lot for months.
Feb 12, 2010 @ 14:20:27
I don’t know how a “shade of pink” can look masculine, but Dodge, you somehow pulled it off!
I’m a huge Mopar fan and an even bigger Challenger fan, but I could never bring myself to buy a Pink Panther Challenger from the 70s. Furious Fuscia is a different story. If I didn’t already own an ’08 SRT8, I’d really be after this car. The interior and wheels look amazing too.
Well done Dodge.
One request: give us a 6.4 hemi with Sublime paint. I will buy another Challenger if that happens!
Feb 12, 2010 @ 16:51:22
All I can say is WOW !!!!, My Plum Crazy R/T Classic just got built today, and Im already wondering if I should have waited just a little longer for the Furious Fuschia…..On second thought I do LOVE that purple !!!! Thanks Dodge for all the excitement, Im glad I get to live through the 70s a second time….this time I can afford to get one new….A 40 year dream come true…..Way to go Dodge!!!!!!!!!
Feb 13, 2010 @ 10:12:03
The pink Chally looks hot. Just in time for Valentines’s day!
BTW, how about a chally convertible…..any color!
Feb 13, 2010 @ 14:41:29
OK..DODGE…wake the heck up!!!!!! The blogs have spoken and “Sublime Green” was voted the most desirable color…..SO go tell those idiot marketing boys to get it straight. “Fusion Fuschia”…GET REAL!!!!!!
I Want a Challenger Classic R/T with 6 speed and I’M NOT gonna buy one till I get MY color…so I guess you lost my money until 2011!!!! We are the “Burger King” generation…and WE want it OUR way!!!! Tan seat inserts in place of that pearl white in fuschia would be nice too. Great Grief!
Feb 13, 2010 @ 18:13:48
I hope to God this is just a filler color until you refresh the interior of the Challenger for 2011. Hopefully, you are waiting to offer it in sublime green with a 6.4 liter motor or even with a 426 cu. in. monster motor. Every loyal Dodge owner would purchase a sublime 426 HEMI Challenger even if they had to sell their soul. You know it, so build it, sell some cars, and make a profit already so you can pay back your loans. Lets see a Challenger commercial already!
Feb 14, 2010 @ 21:23:31
right on track there funky pink. No chally commercials?????? What is wrong with the marketing staff at Dodge????? Give us Sublime and a ‘”tan” interior option asap please!!!!! I’d be happy with the 5.7 or even a bore out to 5.9 with the 6 speed manual….
Feb 16, 2010 @ 15:09:22
Can you believe Chrysler waited 40 years to blow it again?
Feb 16, 2010 @ 16:30:21
Paladin06,
Please explain what you mean..Blow what again ?
The original Challenger was an expensive priced car,not a cheap car like the Mustang and Camaro, the high insurance rated and oil crisis killed the original E-body back then.It had class leading performance, style, handling, braking. Most people back then repainted their Dodge’s that were pink, lime green with a hemi orange, red or black.
Though Dodge today offer all colors as people have changed and want bright/loud colors nowadays.Advertise the heck out of the car, offer wild colors, and please let us know when the bigger SRT Hemi is out,I want a new Challenger that can outrun a 1970 440 Challenger !!
Feb 16, 2010 @ 18:03:33
what a bunch of cry babies. chrysler could offer every color ever made and you guys would find something else to whine about. when lime eventually becomes available you’ll find some other excuse not to buy one, except face facts ya ain’t got the cash. sh!t or get off the pot people. go buy a camaro, challengers are for men not children
Feb 16, 2010 @ 18:58:26
mark a, I guess the a stands for ahole. All we are asking for is a Challenger to be offered in sublime with a black interior. We will then buy our cars and we will be thru posting on this blog if Dodge can simply do that. This blog is to help Dodge make vehicles for people who are not happy with what they are presently offering. In that way, they can obtain more customers. This isn’t a blog for the yes men or suck ups because they have already sold you a car. Dodge wants to find out what they need to offer to attract more business so they can stay profitable and pay back their loans. We are the true Mopar loyalists who have tried to be patient through all of the poor management that has taken over Dodge. Don’t tell me it hasn’t been poor, because they went bankrupt for God sakes. At any rate, we hope they are listening and they can offer sublime sometime in the near future. I am glad you have settled for a color that you like, and I am happy for you. But just because we want to purchase a car in the color that we have always wanted doesn’t mean we are cry babies. Hopefully, Dodge is saving their wildest color for something big in 2011 and if so then we really appreciate the extra effort. It is just that we don’t hear much from them so we assume the worst. Their public relations department needs a heck of a lot of work and that is why they are in the trouble that they are in now. We are all praying that they will change their ways and turn things around. Hopefully, you will do the same.
Feb 17, 2010 @ 19:58:33
everyone just needs to chill out. you are on a blog, so it’s easy for you to call people cry babies and aholes.
yeah, i’ve had my fair share of complaints about how dodge has handled the marketing, public relations, and sales of the challenger, but for the love of God, we don’t need to get angry at one another and have disputes on dodge’s blog. we’re all allowed to have different opinions and can express them so dodge makes what we want, but I can tell you that reps at dodge don’t want to sit around and read crap between two grown men arguing.
we’re lucky they ever made the challenger and we’re lucky they have redletterdodge where they put out information.
the challenger is still the sweetest car on the road for less than $50k. i saw the concept car when i was 24, bought an ’08 at 26 (and it didn’t matter what color it came in), and i will buy a sublime 6.4 when it is available. that could be a year or it could be never.
have your opinions, voice them, but don’t ruin a decent conduit to dodge by bashing each other. we’ll have to suffer through another post by dodge admin saying “play nice, we want to have a professional website.”
Feb 17, 2010 @ 20:44:16
Hey jono, if Dodge had a problem with any of this, they would have already said something. They haven’t because what I have said is true and they know it. In fact, I love Dodge more than anyone out there, including you. It just amazes me how they have brain washed people into thinking that we should be lucky that they make a car we like. That is total insanity if you listen to yourself. They should be listening to us because we purchase the cars so they can stay in business. We have grown so accustomed to them making either little ugly k-cars or chopped up, boxy cars that just aren’t aesthetically pleasing that we have to thank them for making the Challenger. Dodge simply provides us with a product that we can purchase from a number of other competitors. If they don’t listen to the customers then they need to go bankrupt. We shouldn’t have to beg them to make a stylish car like the Challenger. Any good business listens to its customers and provides them with a product they want. Hopefully, they are listening because what they are currently making, just doesn’t cut it (with maybe the exception of the Challenger which is a little too heavy and over priced). At any rate, RLD does read these blogs and does query us for input so we keep them informed. If they don’t want to hear constructive criticism then they will fail. Maybe I shouldn’t have called someone an a hole, but I am sick of listening to some of the bloggers calling us cry babies just because we voice an opinion that could sell a lot of cars for Dodge. All I am trying to say is that we may seem harsh like we are slamming Dodge, but infact we just want them to make some good business decisions so they will recover and become one of the big three again not a distant sixth, seventh or worse depending on which company passes them up this year.
Feb 18, 2010 @ 17:03:29
I think these wheels would look FANTASTIC on a Detonator Yellow!!!
Feb 18, 2010 @ 21:37:48
An open letter to Dodge:
I enforced a self imposed cease and desist on posting at RLD, after things got hectic on the sublime debate in December 2009. Yeah, people had axes to grind on you since green went out the window. I stopped posting, since there was nothing productive left to say about why dodge should have picked a green shade for the next impact color.
In light of the current fuschia offering, and the actual reality of getting an SRT8 due to the numbers presented, I have lifted my posting ban, in order to state my case.
If you don’t want to read any further, then here is your takeaway quote:
I hope you will reconsider offering a maximum 400 fuschia SRT8s.
For the record, I still stand behind green (sassy, grassy, sublime, whatever) as my preferred color. Since that is out of the question as far as any of us know, I decided to look at other colors. I think the fuschia rocks serious attitude, but you are penalizing me as a potential buyer, since there are more than 400 Dodge dealers who might want to order one. I’m sorry I don’t live in high volume dodge sales city, but that’s life in my neighborhood.
Please recall last year, when Dodge dealers were closing left and right. I don’t think I need to list the ones that closed near me. Thankfully, some of them are slowly coming back. Forcing me to call dealers several hundreds, if not thousands of miles away to find out if they want to “maybe” sell me a fuschia SRT8 is BS and I’m calling you out.
Guess what, I currently have zero callbacks from the out of area dealers, and will gladly provide the dealer names to you on request. Why should an out of area/state dodge dealer care to call back a complete stranger who lives far away, when they have local clients? Sure Bob Frederick is an option, but will he even get a chance at one of the 400 SRT8s? By the way, that’s a long drive for an oil change. No disrespect to Bob, but I would like to be a little closer to where my $45k car gets serviced.
I know, this car is branded as the 40th anniversary of the muscle car, as well as the first anniversary of the high cost, market priced, only available to inner circler buyers with high volume dealer connections. Guess what, that’s not me, or my style. If you want to sell me a car, then give all buyers a fair chance at ordering one at a fair price.
You control the inventory, you control who gets dealerships, you control whether I will buy a Dodge product. Don’t tell me to consider a fuschia RT, since there is no limit on production. That is an insult. Maybe I should consider other brands, or maybe just not buy anything at all.
There is no guarantee you will not pull the same move when/if you decide to do green. Do I sit and wait another year, just to get thrown under the limited edition green SRT8 bus? Not going to happen.
I hope you understand and respect my frustration with Dodge. Want to make things right? Start taking advance orders now, from all dealers, so you can get a true idea of the numbers you can produce. I’m willing to bet it tops 400. Prove me wrong.
Adios,
IndyRider
Feb 18, 2010 @ 22:22:03
Hey IndyRider, if you read the Ralph Gilles speech on Allpar.com you will see that they have already received 1500 orders so I think they will make more than 400 if they have any brains. But I forgot that they are not trying to stay in business, that is why they ignore us and everything that has been suggested on this blog. I am not trying to be ugly, I just present the facts. Hopefully, Sergio will clean up this mess and use his common sense that got Fiat back on track. Only time will tell.
Feb 19, 2010 @ 20:14:24
Just read this………
“Ford to cut 900 jobs as Mustang sales fall.
The automaker says the move is the result of sluggish sales in 2009 because of the tough economy, as well as competition from the new Chevrolet Camaro.
Mustang sales fell 27 percent last year in the U.S., being outsold by the Camaro by nearly 5,000 cars. The Camaro hasn’t outsold the Mustang since 1985.”
So my question is, where is DODGE sales in all of this? Think we are selling enough Challengers? The Challenger is way hotter than any of those two cars, but we’re falling behind
in performance. And THAT’s gonna hurt!
Camaro has a 300 hp V6, Mustang a 415hp 5.0LV8.
So those days of blowing off 5.0 Mustang GT’s with the 5.7 HEMI, I guess are over?
Feb 19, 2010 @ 20:59:12
Yes HEMIhead, if you have the heaviest car then you better have the most powerful motor. The Dodge boys should just slap the MDS system on a 6.4 liter and hopefully they have had enough time to engineer it to get the same gas mileage as the 5.7. Use this fuel efficient 6.4 liter, 500+ hp motor for the R/Ts and slap the 600+ Viper motor in the SRTs. They could then slap a twin turbo 300+ hp V6 in the SEs and then everybody would be happy. Hopefully, the refresh in 2011 will incorporate some of these ideas, however, I wouldn’t hold my breath.
Feb 19, 2010 @ 23:19:28
I’m not posting to slam Dodge, just the mindset that is coming up with some of the marketing and sales approaches. I recognize that exclusive, limited edition anything is not a new concept. But lets look at the reality of things as they stand today for buying a fuschia SRT8:
Offering a limited edition model creates hype, buzz, and general mayhem. Let’s examine what needs to happen before you might get a chance to buy one:
a. 400 cars, 2000 dealers. I could be wrong on the dealer number, but I believe it is far greater than 400. At any rate, some dealers will not be in the mix for anything.
b. High volume dealers get first priority, over the remaining dealers. No clue on how you figure out the volume sellers, without inside knowledge.
c. Assuming you have a way to determine who the high volume dealers are, you can contact each of them and plead your case. Or just spam all of them. That’s sure to go over well.
d. High volume dealers are going to give first priority to their repeat customers, rather than the random stranger from who knows where.
e. After all of the priority customers get a chance, the leftovers might get contacted. No idea how the market value pricing affects this step. I have my theories…
f. I know, its just business, and nothing personal against the customer. However, its hard to get new business, when you choose to exclude folks from the offering. I gave up on green, now do I have to give up on fuschia, since I’m not a part of the ‘in’ crowd? I’m offering some business, any takers?
I did read the allpar post with the ralph gilles quote. I wonder how the 1500 units order estimate was tabulated. Obviously someone was polled for interest. I can safely say I wasn’t contacted, so make that number 1501.
Feb 20, 2010 @ 00:48:32
I really don’t like that “hood to fender” stripe option at all!! The old 70′s Challengers never had that stripe. How about making the rear “bumble-bee” stripe again?? You could make it simple like the old originals or change it up to look like a “Super-bee” stripe. That’s what I would want on my “sub-lime” Challenger!!
Feb 20, 2010 @ 11:05:39
Look, I’ll tell you something. If I go to a dealer to buy a vehicle, and they give me some stupid ass
story that their dealership is only getting one vehicle, and it’s already sold. Then I am going to another manufacturer to buy a vehicle. This is the same BS that went on when the Challenger first came out for sale in 2008. A friend of mine had to go to another Province in Canada to buy one because the local dealerships were only getting one each, and the millionaires got a heads up and already had them paid for. Then when it was time for him to get service (oil change),
the local dealership had the GD nerve to tell him they wouldn’t service the car because it wasn’t bought there. He responded by telling them he was there to buy a car and they wouldn’t take his money, and to go to hell. That’s the kind of BS nobody should put up with and also marking up vehicles. And this all happened pre-bankruptsy. Dodge, don’t get on with this BS that you can’t sell somebody a car and then ask for bailout money!
As for the stripes, like ruster1971 said, look at some old pictures and see what stripes were offered on the originals. Release these options and then you can add some new things. Its not that hard. For anyone wanting bumblebee stripes, etc… there are a lot of businesses on the web who sell those stripes for the charger or challenger, and whatever else you want for your car. It’s no different from buying them from Mopar and putting them on. Do what you want with it, you paid for it.
Feb 20, 2010 @ 15:58:12
I think it’s pretty rediculous of Dodge to limit sales of FF SRT8′s to 400 when there may be many more people interested in them. IMO, if 1,000 people want to order one, why on Earth limit themselves to 2.5 times less sales? Make them and blow them out the door as far as I’m concerned. The Plum Crazy Purple was supposed to be a limited availability, yet the ordering window kept getting extended in order to gain more sales.
BTW, the Mstang’s sales dropped for several reasons. There was considerable pent up demand for the Camaro which had disappeared for 8 years, fence sitters were not about to buy an ’09 model with a new style right around the corner, and the economy sucks. FORD reacted very proactively by pushing their schedule ahead with the introduction of the 305 HP V6 and 5.0 GT THIS SPRING for 2011 model year!
Chrysler needs to wake up and become proactive too. The Challenger has much greater sales potential but apparently, nobody seems to know what to do to get the most out of it. I wish that would change as it’s a shame to keep this car hidden. I’ll be driving my PCP R/T around soon enough. Can anyone order one in this color once they see and love it? NO…..’nuf said.
Feb 20, 2010 @ 21:13:10
Change the order limits on the fuschia srt8s, or offer green as the next option in May 2010. Its your call Dodge, as my time and patience is running out. Yes, I’m one voice out of many, but I believe I speak for others. People want to buy your product, so let’s accomodate folks.
Once again, sorry for sounding harsh, but I’m locked and loaded to purchase. You determine whether it will happen. My cards are on the table, so let’s play a hand. No green this year, no problem. Give me fuschia, or give me… (wait somebody else used that quote!)
And yes, I continued to call dealers today, who have no idea about the fuschia offering, or the RLD site. Please spread the word among your dealer community.
IndyRider
Feb 21, 2010 @ 00:57:56
IndyRider, you have waited this long so what is a few more months. Wait until the refreshed 2011 sublime challenger comes out with the updated interior and the 6.4 liter 500 hp motor with MDS. The shaker hood option is supposed to be available as well as a functional T/A hood. We shall see, however, they better do something to keep up with the Camaro and Mustang, especially when they are more expensive.
Feb 21, 2010 @ 11:20:49
I don’t believe the Challenger is in competition with the Camaro or the Mustang.
I think Dodge is aware what the Challenger represents – it’s a car that attracts fans nostalgic for the greatest era of American automobile racing. More importantly, the Challenger attracts fans who would otherwise never get within a mile of a modern Dodge show room.
Fans like me.
I’ve met with my Dodge dealer and I’m carefully working a relationship so that I’ll go to the top of the list when (if?) Sublime Green gets the corporate go-ahead. (and yes ‘Mark a’, I got the cash).
Would I consider doing the same for a bowtie equipped Mullet Maserati, or the ubiquitous (common as dirt, for the vocabulary impaired) Mustang?
Not on your life.
Feb 21, 2010 @ 11:46:42
Sublime, I agree somewhat on waiting, the key is how much longer. I was hoping to own a challenger this year (actually last year). In my book a few months is around two!
I’m assuming the 2011 green won’t be available until calendar year 2011 with spring as the actual get behind the wheel timeline. No idea if Dodge will offer 2011 ordering earlier, but some indicators would help out. I’m working all options and I did make some progress yesterday so I’m back in happy mode.
Side topic, wonder if black wheels will become an option. Could look nice on pretty much any impact color. I’m thinking back to the yellow and flat black car shown here awhile back. Drop those bad boys on fuschia, or green.
And props to dodge on the fuschia offering. Whether you love it or hate it, the car will command attention. I can see the car pacing the field at Las Vegas for a NASCAR race. Drop Wayne Newton and a few showgirls inside and you have got a winner on your hands.
And maybe its just me, but the polished heritage wheels on the RT look the best out of everything offered to date. I’m not including the fuschia srt8 wheel option, since I haven’t seen it yet. I’m mixing topics, but wanted to get some comments out. Also saw the T/A hood and spoiler option on a silver RT. Not really digging the hood, something doesn’t look right. Spoiler looked nice.
The quest continues….
Feb 21, 2010 @ 23:16:18
IndyRider, I wanted to trade my truck in back when the 2008 Challengers came out, however, they wouldn’t offer them in sublime. If they want to wait another 10 years, I don’t care anymore. I haven’t had a truck payment in three years and it has been great. It is much cheaper repairing an old vehicle then buying a new one. Thanks to the Dodge Boys, I have learned this lesson and will keep my vehicles a lot longer. That is less money for them and to tell you the truth, when they refuse to make what the customer wants then they don’t deserve the customers money. Their retarded marketing strategy has led them to bankruptcy and they continue with the same stupidy, never learning from their mistakes. I thought Serge from Fiat was going to save them, however, I think he is too busy trying to save two floundering companies and can’t see all the stupidity that goes on. If he pulls this one off, then he is a miracle man. Offering a car in a different color with different colored seats is a major deal for them, God help them. Maybe they will offer the Fiat 500 with a HEMI in sublime and I can save a lot of money. I still think a 70 or 71 ‘cuda looks better than the new Challenger anyhow so if they don’t offer sublime in 2011 then I am buying some of the vintage mopar muscle that will always be worth something. The more you wait the more you start thinking how much you don’t need the car. I hate handing my money over to people who have treated me so poorly.
Feb 22, 2010 @ 07:42:47
Hello All!!!
On these limited edition Challys what Dodge can do is do a web ordering. It is open for limited time, once the number is sold is it closed. The costumer puts a good deposit on a charge card, and the car is delivered to their closest dealer and the customer pays for it…. This can give allot of people a chance to get a dream car……
This is just a idea…

Hey guys, after reading your post, I got to wondering. Chrysler/Dodge owes alot of money to us, American tax payers. A few Billion that still needs to be repaid. I would suggest that you contact your congressperson and/or Senator. Also, the person in charge of the re-organization of GM and Chrysler , Blooom and Ratner, and tell them all what a poor job dodge/chrysler is doing in meeting demand for products and how you are sick and tired of waiting for the right color, and options. How frustrating it is trying to buy a car from them and so on.
You have nothing to loose! The worst that can happen is that they’ll ignore you, just like chrysler/dodge does!
Personally, I think Mopar won’t last more than a couple of years before fiat moves on. Something is wrong with this organization!!!
Feb 22, 2010 @ 17:16:54
Heck, I wanted to get a chally convertible as was planned IN 2008. Now it’s on indefinate hold. (No, I will not pay the extra 16 grand for a chop-shop convrt) Well, I moved on and bought a tops less 08 Mustang. No problems getting colors, options etc. If, and it’s a big if, the topless chally is ever made, I’ll trade in my stang for it. In the mean time, I ‘ll continue to drive an iconic American car with the wind in my face. Life is short, why wait for dodge to get their act together and come through….
Feb 22, 2010 @ 21:19:32
If “The DODGE Boys” in head office were smart, they would offer all different HI-IMPACT colours and produce them in runs of 500 like the old NASCAR requirements once they got 500 orders of the same color. Challengers, Camaros & Mustangs are going to be used for some of the NASCAR Nationwide races this year & if the Challengers were all painted in different HI-IMPACT colors, that would really draw interest from people watching in the stands and on T-V. Imagine if you could get Danica Patrick to drive a Fuscia Challenger in a race, how many orders would you get on Monday?? Get with the program “DODGE” and fill the demand!!
Even all the “DRAG-PACK” Challengers are sold-out because “YOU” only offer 100 of those.
Feb 22, 2010 @ 21:36:55
Yes, the go daddy car could become the go chally car, with the green and black trim. There are so many options with this car, I wish Dodge would adopt an open source approach to the marketing strategy.
Put a bunch of us in a locked room with endless coffee and a few dodge execs. No rules, no buzzwords, just ideas. Lets throw logic to the curb for awhile.
First idea is on the house: Develop quick partnership with leading wheel supplier, so you can offer more selections, including the flat black police car style wheels. Better yet, get some centerlines or cragars in the mix.
I guarantee the results would be groundbreaking! And I bet folks would volunteer their time. I will, if it helps get green to market quicker!

Hey Guys,
Just wanted to stop in and say we definitely want to receive feedback (in a constructive manner), and are listening. So keep the conversation clean, and keep it coming!

Hey, to the power that be guys and gals that are actually doing the grunt work to get these cars to market. My comment has to do with the price. A chevy friend of mine bought the new Camaro SS this car is the equivalent to the Challenger SRT and cost him under 40K. How about you start competing price wise as well

Calling RLD!
I’m off to Vegas for the NASCAR race. I’m planning to hit up the Dodge Boyz booth, so let them know IndyRider is coming. Just look for the highly motivated challenger buyer, prowling the area.
And yes, I will keep my comments constructive, productive, and on point for getting a fuschia, or green srt8!
subtle hint (Sassy Grass Green works as well……)
If anyone else is rolling to LV, just look for the green and black hi top Vans. The perfect color combo on a Dodge Challenger. Can’t rock the fuschia ones, don’t have them (yet!).
Go Mopar! Go Dodge! Go make me some green/fuschia whatever!

Hey RLD,
The new Challenger is much taller than the old Challenger and needs some type of side stripe to break up the massive body panels. That is why the Classic R/T body side stripes or even the indian war paint hood to fender stripes look good on it. The sublime metallic green that you painted the 2007 Chargers looked sharp and would be a good fit for the new Challenger. The vintage sublime is a little to pale looking and the sassy grass looked too much like grass and wasn’t bright enough. That is why I think the new 2007 sublime is actually a better color and is an eye catcher from miles away. A Classic R/T sublime Challenger would look good, however, if you put a flat black T/A hood on it with T/A body stripes then you would have a real winner. It would be something new, but you already have the parts so it wouldn’t cost you anything. Chrome rallye wheels would be a nice touch, especially larger tires and wheels in the rear just like the old days. I think Wheel Vintiques or some other manufacturer would make them since you will be ordering quite a few of them. I have seen the spy shots of your new Charger interior and it looks much better. Make sure you add a lot of chrome accents to class it up a bit and please, please, please offer the interior in black. The gray is getting old and is dated. By the way, you need to have a chrome clad wheel option for the top of the line SRT. The dull aluminum wheels may appeal to some people and everyone has different tastes, however, the rest of us do not like them and end up buying the less expensive R/T because wheels make a car. Keep making limited editions so everyone can get what they want and it really doesn’t cost you much of anything. Stripes are cheap. By the way, a petty blue Challenger would look sharp, however, the Petty Enterprises creation just doesn’t cut it because there is too much blue. You need to break it up with some black stripes, spoilers, etc. Let’s see Kurt Busch win the championship this year or drop out. NASCAR has become a Chevy thing now so just paint a bow tie on the hood and Kurt may have a better chance. Maybe you can talk Ford and Toyota to bail as well so the France’s have to change the rules that favor Chevy. Toyota may be more willing to listen now that they don’t have the extra cash flow to dump into the sport. Anyhow, good luck and keep the options and limited editions coming. We are all getting tired of our vehicles and want to buy something already.

Hey sublime, where did you find the charger interior spy shots ? I would love to see them.
Feb 24, 2010 @ 12:38:20
Hey Flames T., It’s not much but its something. Has more of a retro 71-74 road runner or charger rallye dash.

Oh no! More of that cheap silver plastic. (Interior Spy shots)
That’s why I won’t be buying a Dodge this year.
Dodge, let me know when you are changing those cheap looking interiors that are in 90%
of your vehicles. I’ve already put off my purchase until spring of 2011 because I was not impressed by any of your A to B vehicles. Geez, talk about going backwards, you had better interiors in the 80′s for cryin’ out loud. That Journey interior and dash reminds me of an old cavalier. Yeeeech!!!

Just do a green challenger this year. Its that simple. OntarioStreetCar (or something like that) had the charger spy photos.
The concept challenger T/A in sublime and flat black is the model you should follow. Let’s get it going, or at least lets get my fuschia order in place.
viva las vegas baby!

And I’m lobbying for sassy grass as an option, since sublime seems to be out of the question. How about snakeskin green, I believe that was a color on something you previously offered.
And here’s an idea, what about the metallic gold that was offered on the prowler a few years ago? I’m keeping the vintage 67-69 Mattel Hot Wheels color theme going. Can you say antifreeze as a color option?
Gotta start packing for the trip, so lock the doors on the dodge hauler. I’m eastbound to Sin City.

RLD, can you tell us when exactly the ordering opens for the furious fuchsia ? It looks like my wife wants to park one in the garage next to my plumcrazy R/T classic …..Thanks !!

At lvms today and dodge had a great display of cars in the expo area. They also had a thrill ride deal using vipers and challengers. Spoke with heather to continue the quest for fuschia or green. Vote for green if you are at the race this weekend.
