The Monster is Loose: First Viper ACR-X Begins Production |
Posted on March 30, 2010
Our friends at the Chrysler LLC Blog, Ed Garsten and Scott Anderson, were lucky enough to be on hand this week as the first of 25 Viper ACR-X models began production, and they’re sharing their exclusive footage with us.
This non-street legal, spec-series racer featured in the video above (and the pictures here) is powered by a 640-horsepower track-bred beast – the infamous SRT-developed 8.4-liter V-10 engine. Currently, only 25 units of the ACR-X have been authorized for production, but that could change depending on consumer demand. The Viper ACR-X will make its on-track debut in the newly formed Dodge Viper Cup series in July.

“This video has been removed by the user.” Why are you placing videos on the blog if you can’t play them? At any rate, that looks like a bad @ss Viper and I am glad that you are still making them because I think a lot of your research trickles down into the rest of your cars. I love my Plum Crazy Classic Challenger even though it isn’t Sublime. I still get compliments everywhere I go. It sure is a head turner and it just looks good sitting in the driveway. The recessed lighting in the back of the front seats is a nice touch to illuminate the rear seat. The car looks great in the day and at night. As much as I have complained, I will have to say you have done an unbelieveable job with the Challenger. Everyday I find another cool feature and the car is just a joy to drive. The only problem is watching your speed. You are up to speed in just a few seconds and you don’t feel like you are really going that fast. I can’t wait until I break it in so I can see what it really can do. Keep the performance cars coming!

You got a new video clip and it is a good one. I really hope you do sell more than 25 of these cars because the Viper is a beast and you cannot beat the price for all that power. Go Dodge and lets see some commercials with your performance cars in it.
