Everyone has there own personal taste and I know some people like the all black look, however, it just looks like it is missing something. It looks like someone stold the grille and the hubcaps. I know you are trying to give it that 1969 road runner/superbee lift off six pack hood with the black steel wheels and chrome lug nuts look, but that was to keep the price down. Here you are taking perfectly good $500 plus polished aluminum alloy wheels and making them black. Then you are jacking up the price for a stealth looking car that no one will notice. There is something about the wheels making a car and having that polished aluminum or chrome sets a car off. I know when they put the big 20″ chrome clad wheels on the 2002 Ram trucks, everybody wanted a Dodge pickup. In fact, I bought one a few years later and I didn’t even want a truck. I can see by the lack of comments that no one is really drooling over this one. It seems to me that everyone who can afford a Challenger has one by now and so we should be looking at ways of making an inexpensive one with a V8 or turbo V6 (at least 300+ horsepower) in it with a bare bones cockpit, etc. (road runner, superbee). Go with some black inexpensive steel wheels, cheap fiberglas hood, and a vinyl interior with just a radio and AC. No power seats and seat belts should be built into the seats so passengers can easily get in the back seat. Remove some of the sound deadening insulation and other things to lighten up the car. An affordable, good looking Challenger would sell. Again, this Mopar 10 car is nice if you are into that, but I just don’t know. I do like the pistol grip shifter.

Not feeling the love for the rims. You could have just put the black steel wheels off of the police chargers on it. They look pretty good. I already seen a new Challenger with those police wheels on and they look alright. I would rather another color than black on the car. Why not Petty blue, or the Mopar blue or something. As much as I love “MOPAR” all over everything I own, those hood decals look like someone printed them from home, on their printer, set to “New Times Roman” font. My gosh, graphics went all out on the design of those. At least include the Omega “M”,
maybe a big one in the center of the hood scoop. Love the mopar logo on the sides of the seats,
and the shifter is awesome.

Love the shifter, on the fence for the wheels. I like the concept of black wheels, just haven’t seen a pair that makes me go “gotta buy em”.
Keep the ideas coming, nothing wrong with trying new combos on a great car like the challenger.

Sublime,
The hood is a copy of the 1970 Challenger T/A….Also if the cheapen the car out, vynal, less sound deadening the journelists will crap all over them, saying ALL Mopar’s are cheaply built garbage, just look at the reviews they give them already..if anything improve the quality of materials ect…The Challenger even in the 1970′s was not a bare bones car.. I know of a few people that want a new Challenger but didnt go out and buy one yet,I am waiting for the 6.4 SRT !! I am way to busy working right now to even spend the time I want cruising around, cant even enjoy ,my old rides as much as I want to…I think people nowadays want a top end quality/feel car for vynal bench seat ,manual rollup window price..Hey,to each his own…I like the Mopar 10..if you dont thats great..thats why they have the R/T,R/T Classic,SRT,and the 6 shooter models…Keep more models coming..Awesome !!!
Like the old 69 Road Runner,I dont like the coupe as much, bench seat, manual brake/steering ect….I’d go for the hardtop, with ps,pb ,some people dont agree with me/some do,Choice is awesome !!
HEMIhead,
As for the wheels,I do like chrome best but black wheels are in now !! And I do like it…more options for the consumer..More models/options the better !! Did you see Ford’s horrible decals it offers for every car/truck !..Look at the Raptor Yikes !
RLD,
I do love the Mopar edition, something I thought about and even mentioned on some blogs here and there…As I ALWAYS have a MOPAR sticker on my cars/truck somewhere since I started driving !!! Love the MOPAR side decal, center caps on the wheels..Excellent !! Yes,for myself Chrome wheels prefered but not a biggie..WE need a MOPAR RAM !!! That would be great as well…Wheels remind me of the Night Runner edition Dodge Ram’s !! Needs more of those !!
Jul 24, 2010 @ 15:35:38
Just gotta say again..Love the MOPAR edition !!! Bring more MOPAR editions across the board !! Charger/RAM Too bad about the Viper,i’d say a Mopar Viper but its no more …
MOPAR RULES !!!!!!MOPAR RULES !!!!!!MOPAR RULES !!!!!!MOPAR RULES !!!!!!MOPAR RULES !!!!!!MOPAR RULES !!!!!!MOPAR RULES !!!!!!MOPAR RULES !!!!!!MOPAR RULES !!!!!!MOPAR RULES !!!!!!
Hope I made myself clear !!
I now want a MOPAR 6.4 HEMI CHALLENGER !!

440, Don’t get me wrong here, I’d take that car in a heartbeat! Rims and all. I really love the side stripe and color. Love that hood also. Yes indeed, MOPAR does rule!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I too proudly display mopar stickers/emblems on all my vehicles. I love the whole theme to death. MOPAR – Bring It On !
Jul 25, 2010 @ 01:15:21
Don’t get me wrong, Mopar forever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! However, this is just missing something. I even think the Mad Max Interceptor in all black looks better. Those wheels were meant to be black, these aren’t. Just make a T/A version of the Challenger with the hood, stripe and side pipes and be done with it already. I would love to see an updated version of the rallye rims.

I seen a 2010 Challenger, red, with the flat black T/A style stripe, flat black T/A hood, and it had those black police issue steel rims with the chrome center caps, and man did it ever look sweet.
It was a real nice combo. It certainly gave it that bare bones look that I guess the owner was looking for, but all of us here knows the only bare bones is what would be left of the competition.
What ever way that Challenger is set up, it always looks awesome. Never seen one yet I didn’t Love!

I do like chrome wheels better…
They should offer options like this one pictured…T/A hood,go wing style spoiler..R/T classic wheels..and should have another package that offers a side stripe, black hood and black spoiler option…and the current Classic,R/T,Mopar 10,SRT…love different options…I like the look of the front end lowered just a bit..the back must be just a little higher than the front..not to much higher though..just my opinion..They all look good to me..
I like the normal Challenger hood, but I would buy a T/A style hood as well..

It looks sweet, it runs great and ma Mopar made it! I would love to have one of these cars. Black is not the right color for the desert, I would not be picky….the Challenger is awesome! You can park one in my garage anytime. Mopar or no car!
Jul 26, 2010 @ 12:44:45
so-called moparman,
These cost more than a Mustang, more than a Camaro, thus lower sales…drive them all ,and the Challenger is the best car, smooth ride, great handling and power levels to impress everyone…
Jul 26, 2010 @ 14:20:32
Well, they do offer Challenger’s with the T/A style hood and go wing style spoiler…
Another option could be a black hood and spoiler…more options, I love…I dont know what the model is called,I knew they mentioned this a while back and have seen some, with the T/A hood, but I forgot…overworked I guess, next thing the 6.4..392 will be out for 6 months and I will still be waiting for it !!!

440, yes that had the Mopar Exterior Package. You had to pay an additional $1,999 for a hood and a screwed up AAR ‘cuda stripe and a cheap copy of the gull wing rear spoiler. The rear spoiler looked “aftermarket” …somehow it didn’t fit or look right. These designers just don’t have the flair that the one’s in the 70s had. The R/T Classic is a better deal because you get the leather seats with the color keyed stitching, functional hood scoops, chrome Craiger style rims, and more for a better price than if you had to purchase it all individually. You can purchase the T/A hood from Mopar for $1,200, the rear spoiler for $300, and the stripe for $200 so it is cheaper to buy a regular car and buy this stuff later and you get to keep the original hood. The option was just too over priced and that is why we still have all of those cars sitting at our dealership since they got them 6 or 7 months ago. They should have at least thrown in a leather mopar interior for free. By the way, when they came in, they charged another $3,000 over sticker price because they thought they were special. They will be selling them $10,000 under sticker price when the new 2011 Challengers come in.

Love the car! Challenger is by far the best looking of the retro but would not buy one until it sheds about 500lbs! 4200 weigh in is just way to much. That car should not be over 3700 tops. IT would perform so much better! Oww yeah put some wider tires in back. The 255s look tiny! that 45k price tag is up there.
Jul 28, 2010 @ 16:42:25
love all the challengers, if its all black it should be a flat or matte black finish, and a big blue ‘m” on each quarter panel, like the plymouth logo was on the superbird back in the day. I like the hood, shifter, striping and interior piping, do agree that they should put charger cop rims on. overall sweet package !!!! me like. when is the 6.4 coming out ?
Aug 26, 2010 @ 18:30:14
should bring back the superbirds large spoiler. I love the interior of this edition but could they add some color to the rims? the black rims look like steelies if you’re drunk or looking from a few yards away…lol

I ordered one and can’t wait for it to arrive regardless of whether or not anyone else likes it. I know they wanted to keep it 50 state legal so a Cat back system may have made that difficult. However I wish they would have given it the full SRT exhaust system… that should pass in all 50 states and would have been a sweet selling point.

Update..9/22 Still waiting… and it appears the none of these have been built yet. Hearing rumors it might not arrive until mid Nov. If that actually happens they can keep it. I’ll likely have ordered a 2011 392 by then. Still holding out hope they might start making some of them soon.
