Dodge Has Fun with “Freedom” |
Posted on August 17, 2010
There are a few things America got right: cars, freedom, and the hidden-camera prank. Check out the video above for a quick glimpse inside the comedic gold mine alternatively known as the antique industry. Tip: hang in for the 1:50 mark when things get particularly…prissy.

I like it. People like funny things. I see the Challenger sales were up 390% last month now that you are starting to advertise and get the word out, cars are selling. The Durango looks good as well. Keep the teasers coming.

Hello all!!!!
I was a Whitten Chrysler/Dodge Ashland,VA yesterday and saw a poster with the Chally and many of the cast of the freedom commercial at the bottom of the poster it said the “Freedom to REV’. I ask if it could be ordered they said no that corp. sent it out as part of the ADV campaign… The good news is I got one (they had an extra)….
It was a good commercial and should be aired more !!!!

Speaking of freedom, I see some of the 2011 Chargers are being used in the new Fast and Furious movie. I just don’t know about the back side windows. What is up with the extra little window? I guess they can’t roll down the entire window all the way. That really looks like crap. Why are we screwing up the only sporty thing about the car. It used to have the roofline of a ’71 Charger. And the rear taillights should be narrower. Who in the H@ll are the designers for Dodge? Can’t they see that looks bad? I think I need to send them a sketch to get them back on track. It looks like I will be going back to buying used cars since the new ones are looking uglier by the minute. http://www.autoblog.com/photos/reader-spy-2011-dodge-charger/#3285294

Sublime,
I agree with the back window,one of the reasons the Charger looked good as a 4 door…maybe it creates less of a blind spot as many journelists /people complained about it…personally I have driven 75,000 in a 2006 Charger and no issues of blind spots (use my mirrors) even shoulder checks done with no issues !!!
Yeah,as for new cars there is a time coming when the new models will get uglier a than the current ,look at the past !! ( alot of brand x cars already done this they had allright looking cars and totally redone them to hideous designs) I cant keep wondering what the designers have upcoming for the Challenger…it will most likely be ruined in a remodel..
So far the Dodge trucks seem to be getting better looking..but I cringe at the thought of the next restyle…as the Charger doors hopefully its only a cop car door (not likely )

Though ,I must say the Charger is still going to be the best looking 4 door car !! Love the mean looking front !!! The rear doors must be about blind spots as many people are inept when it comes to driving and knowing where your car is…side,back..front..bottom..top…Around here people drive worse than Mr.Magoo (probably going to get into trouble with saying mr.magoo in this crazy p.c world)

Wow! Glad I got my 2006. The front end looks O.K. if not like a Mitsu Lancer, don’t like the rear
doors, and hate that dash. How do they think that looks good? Get rid of that cheap looking silver paint! Man, another cycle!

That gave me a good laugh. You guys are rocking the advertising world with your commercials. There are two commercials I get a kick out of watching (and one has been recently discontinued); the PC vs. Mac commercials crack me up and the Dodge commercials crack me up plus give me chills. Good stuff guys/gals!

@Sublime
Take another look at the cars at autoblog. The taillights aren’t on the same car as the one with the split rear door window. The rear door windows as well as the door handles are different.
The taillights seems to be on what looks to be a 2010.
