Win the Most Awesome Poster on the Planet [UPDATE: WINNERS ANNOUNCED] |
Posted on August 26, 2010
A few months ago, the Dodge Challenger “Freedom” spot hit the airwaves and totally blew your mind. Today, we’re about to throw you another change-up with the chance to win 10 FREE POSTERS – but these aren’t just any posters, oh no. These are full-size copies of the “Freedom” print ad which, as those of you who have seen the “Appraisal” video already know, aren’t worth much money but are definitely good for a few laughs.
To get in on the action, all you need to do is hit up the comment box below and tell us which historical figure you’d most like to see rockin’ it behind the wheel of a Dodge Challenger. On Friday we’ll pick ten random commenters to win these sick posters, so get typing!
If you aren’t one of the lucky 10 chosen to win, don’t worry. You can still download the wallpapers (the next best thing) after the jump.

Teddy Roosevelt and the Rough Riders, San Juan Hill.
Aug 27, 2010 @ 11:29:13
Barry Newman, historical in a “Dodge” sense.

Elvis Presley is the King. The Challenger is the King. A match made in Heaven I think.
Elvis was always a “car man” and was famous for giving cars away! You could have him giving Challengers away to lucky people – like a motoring Highway God!
I can just see the shot now….A Dodge Challenger crests a hill on some lonely strech of country road as Elvis’s arrival song is blaring loudly – the theme from 2001: A Space Oddysey (Thus Spoke Zarathustra). It comes up on an unsuspecting person broke down alongside the road. As it stops – ELVIS gets out and fives them the keys to his incredible Dodge Challenger – to own forever. And before they can thank him he “disappears”…like a ghost. And the spot ends with something about how “Elvis has left the building”! Incredible!!!
Aug 27, 2010 @ 12:23:22
That ride is 2tight. I might buy one even if I’m too big to fit in it.
Aug 27, 2010 @ 12:30:51
Abraham Lincoln
Aug 27, 2010 @ 15:13:10
Frank O’Connor and Ayn Rand. Rand hated driving, so she’d have her husband Frank drive her everywhere. So, Frank would have to be in the picture, too. But Rand may have done more for freedom and capitalism than anyone else in the 20th century, so she’d look great (yet also awkward as usual) standing next to this symbol of freedom and capitalism in steel and glass.
Aug 27, 2010 @ 16:43:23
Samuel Adams doing a burn-out.
Aug 27, 2010 @ 17:28:13
You gotta go with Uncle Sam. Its the perfect Match
Aug 27, 2010 @ 17:33:28
Norman Schwartzkopf , Well known, well respected, great military career. Stormin’ Norman, everybody knows who he is, straight to the point, no BS, hard charger, just like the Challenger
Aug 27, 2010 @ 20:33:40
How about Neil Armstrong landing on the moon in a Challenger??!! That would be out of this world!! lol.
Aug 27, 2010 @ 20:43:08
Peter Fonda & the other guy from “Dirty Larry, Crazy Mary” or how about Starsky & Hutch?? They’re probably sick of driving a Ford Torino all the time!!
Aug 27, 2010 @ 21:13:08
George Washington Leading the way, as he did crossing the Delaware (1851). Perfect fit as is his picture, which is a Huge Iconic image for American History, which also can be presented with an All American Dodge SRT8. Cant be beat.
Aug 27, 2010 @ 21:50:45
General George Patton
Aug 27, 2010 @ 21:54:04
Paul Revere, who rode through the night to warn people that the British were coming. A Challenger SRT8 would have been perfect for that.
Aug 27, 2010 @ 21:55:08
Paul Revere, who rode through the night to warn people that the British were coming. A Challenger SRT8 would have been perfect for that.
Aug 28, 2010 @ 00:00:55
As Dodge has been going with the American theme I will stick to that although Julius Caesar returning to a triumph in the streets of Rome with a roaring Challenger would be cool.
Exploring America with Dodge would be good with scenes of Lewis and Clark cruising near various natural landmarks from the Louisiana purchase.
Aug 28, 2010 @ 08:07:09
General Chuck Yeager or Wylie Coyote in a race against the Road Runner
Aug 28, 2010 @ 08:40:50
Betsy Ross – maybe she’s in her rocking chair slowly and methodically sewing the flag (workmanship) then she gets out and does a few doughnuts in the Challenger on the way to deliver it. Hmmm basic color or maybe a Furious Fuschia Classic?
Aug 28, 2010 @ 11:57:01
Carroll Shelby – if only they would have listened to me – we could have done this years ago!
Aug 28, 2010 @ 12:09:29
Great ideas already posted. So I will go with Albert Einstein for the intelligence angle, or Abraham Lincoln for the honesty angle.
Aug 28, 2010 @ 17:33:32
“Peter Fonda & the other guy from “Dirty Larry, Crazy Mary” ”
Yeah, too bad there isn’t a retro charger for them to drive……….
Aug 28, 2010 @ 17:35:29
“or Wylie Coyote in a race against the Road Runner”
Except this time the road runner would have to go off the cliff, since plymouth is dead! D’oh!
Aug 28, 2010 @ 18:07:12
Perhaps Thomas Jefferson personally delivering a letter to the Danbury Baptists in a challenger.
Maybe John Adams driving one to the sea port to drop off the newly signed Treaty of Tripoli.
How about the Dodge Brothers driving it on the original test track at their original Hamtramck Michigan Plant.
Perhaps Richard Petty, the real guy as is now, doing a couple laps at daytona in one, pulling into the pits, climbing out the window and saying, “it’s fast, but it’s missing the charger emblem”.
Aug 28, 2010 @ 18:11:53
I would most wanna see john F kennedy riding in one cuz he famously died while in a car and he would look perfect drivin front seat of this challenger!!!
Aug 28, 2010 @ 19:22:16
Paul Revere, racing through colonial times with lantern…”one if by land…two if by sea.” Follows theme…”Let Freedome Rev”
Aug 28, 2010 @ 19:33:09
Orville and Wilbur Wright takes the SRT8 to North Carolina to make thier first flight. What they didn’t tell everybody was the behind the scenes roll the car had in the first flight.
Aug 28, 2010 @ 20:27:56
Barney Oldfield. The first man to go sixty at Indy. Love to see what he thought of a car that could hit sixty in second gear.
Aug 29, 2010 @ 09:40:52
I think it should be Washington and Jefferson and Ben Franklin blowing off a british car in a drag race three races three wins for Dodge Challengers
Aug 29, 2010 @ 14:09:18
Lewis & Clark true pioneers showing off how they really made it across the country!

Aug 30, 2010 @ 11:03:40
James Dean. I can just see him slumped low in the seat looking out the side window. Cool car, cool looking driver.
Aug 30, 2010 @ 11:52:46
You could have Bill Bixby driving a challenger SE, then someone cuts him off, and he becomes the incredible hulk, the challenger transforms into an R/T classic in Sassy Grass green, and he goes flying past the guy who cut him off, sliding sideways around the next corner,
Cut to a shot fo the new dodge logo and a voice saying, ” challenger, let your innner beast run free!
Aug 30, 2010 @ 12:01:15
Abraham Lincoln
Aug 30, 2010 @ 16:37:30
Benjamin Franklin smoking the tires, kite tied to the antenna..
Aug 30, 2010 @ 16:43:20
moparman, I like the Hulk idea. Nobody in America knows American history, but they know about the Hulk. How about offering the Challenger in sublime green.
Aug 30, 2010 @ 16:47:02
The Hulk will grab peoples attention. Mopar has had road runner cartoon vehicles, why not a Hulk edition of the Challenger. It can have a supercharged 6.4 liter HEMI in it offered only in sublime green. Why not?
Aug 30, 2010 @ 17:25:16
go dodge CHALLENGER YA EVERY SHOULD HAVE ONE!! GO DODGE
